Had a fab weekend! Friday: was too exhausted from work so ended up falling asleep during the movie 'Ghost writer'. The movie seemed interesting, might just have to check it out a second time. Saturday night: went to a fundraiser at a bar in LaGrange. The fundraiser was hosted by a friends cousin who has set up a scholarship foundation in memory of her dad. The idea is fantastic--girls who are seniors in high school write essays describing how great & meaningful their relationship with their fathers is. There are usually one or two winners of the scholarships, depending on how much $$ is raised.
The fundraiser was a blast! They had a wristband drink special for the night, and lots & lots of items that were raffled off. I ended up winning $25 to the bar we were at, and $45 from the split-the-deck game! Had never heard of split-the-deck before, but really loved the idea (mainly because I won $$)! I was really hoping to get a new mountain bike or a kindle, but the $$ doesn't hurt :)
Sunday morning: woke up hungover & went down to Soldiers Field for a Cystic Fibrosis benefit walk. I kid you not, it was a freaking tsunami today! The rain and wind were horrible, and the cold temp made it that much worse. My shoes were soaked intantly, and had to walk the 3 miles with my head down so I could see through the blinding rain. Hadn't seen weather like that in awhile, much less have to be walking out in it. Was a great cause & had a good time with good friends! Lets hope this week goes quickly, have another exciting weekend coming up! :)
